This was the first album released by Taiwan indie band “Sorry Youth”. We choose Taiwan’s famous fish, which was called “Milk Fish”, as an major visual character. Milk Fish has its special instincts. It has to live in pure water. As a streamline body so that it can swim very fast. But it has plenty of fish bones which is hard to pick. We think its instincts are like Taiwan young man’s characteristic nowadays. We  want environment better, just like the desire of pure water. We sprint for our dreams, and we are not easy to be tamed.

Sorry Youth is a Taiwanese indie band formed by Weni (vocals, guitar), Giang Giang (vocals, bass) and Chung-Han (vocals, drums). Their style is a mix of instrumental-rock, noise-pop and emo, while blending in Taiwanese local dialect into the melody and rhythm to showcase unique Taiwanese cultures. Sorry Youth is one of the best rock bands in Taiwan. After a 5-year long hiatus, they have incorporated into their second album Brothers Shouldn’t Live Without Dreams new elements like brass and Beiguan music.

Singing in Taiwanese dialect, Sorry Youth represent the true spirit of Taiwan’s style. After the excitement of producing and being nominated for the Golden Melody Awards for their album Sea Food, Sorry Youth return to their poetic lives of earning their bread by day and creating music by night. As young adults now, the Youths have grown out of that adolescent recklessness and have shown more sophistication and insight. They have refined their songwriting skills while maintaining the Taiwanese rock course on the their musical pursuit. In their quest for more diversified arrangements, they’ve added to their bold and fearless music new ingredients from other styles such as folk blues, Taiwanese liam-kua, as well as elements of harmonization. Recordings of live performances are incorporated into production to retain the rough gutsy-ness of the band’s true grit.

Thanks to the Sorry Youth’s ferocious Taiwanese rock , award-winning producer Blaire Ko’s uncompromising attention to detail, and award-winning graphic designer Godkidlla’s audacious strokes, Brothers Shouldn’t Live Without Dreams is a masterpiece sure to arouse gentle yet unyielding tidal waves in you!

Is it authentic Taiwanese rock music or rock and roll soul fused with the Taiwanese language? It depends on one’s personal opinion. Most would say that Sorry Youth is a bit of both. Sorry Youth is one of the most significant examples of independent Taiwanese bands with a strong local awareness and consciousness. It’s evident in their music and what they do outside of their music careers.

With three critically acclaimed albums under their belts, Sorry Youth has successfully established a strong bond and deep connection with their listeners. Their most recent album, “Bad Times Good Times”, narrates the band’s uncertainty for the future and devotion to their homeland, and their tireless efforts to preserve their mother tongue. The 9-track album are all sung in Taiwanese language, which has become a hallmark for the band.

The band earned a well-deserved reputation as one of the bands on the forefront of Malaysian indie music scene. Theirs is a vastly intelligent brand of instrumental rock with an added knack for exotic Oriental melodies, somewhat akin to Explosions in The Sky meeting Ride during Chinese New Year.

Strictly local, gorgeously global.

Citizens of Ice Cream create a sound as delicious as the name implies. Track from the debut album “Days of Bays” tantalizes the senses with twangy guitars, punctuating synthesizers, and skittering drums.

Dominated by a non-linear movement, the track expresses a spatial freedom that is overwhelming, captivating, and all together blissful. The different instruments dance around each other as the layers smoothly gel, regardless of the configuration.
