The Re-opening Series

In the midst of the pandemic when live venues were pretty much silent, Live Fact survived by pivot after pivot — crowdfunding, live streaming, applying grants, selling merch, and relying on the goodwill it had built from local bands and followers, helping it stay afloat. Now it’s time for the show to go on again! Live gigs will be opened to fully vaccinated Malaysians nationwide after having been shuttered for more than one year.

Islands

ISLANDS is a band/project hailing from Subang Jaya, Malaysia. Starting out as a Shoegaze/Dream Pop solo-project in 2014 by Izelan Shahier in his bedroom, adding in new members along the way helped to add the human element that’s missing from pop music in status quo. The band is on the road to record and release an LP of self written material by Izelan soon to be released.

Islands music has been featured in JUICE MY Track Of The Week 2016, TimeOut KL’s Top 30 Local Tracks of 2017, DailySeni’s Local Tracks of 2017, Top 12 finalists for Vans Musicians Wanted Asia 2018 edition and (UK) Crywank’s Farewell World Tour 2019

Sonic Maha

Sonic Maha is a psychedelic garage rock outfit from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Haziq Shaqimi and Shafiq Daniel founded the project in the middle of 2019 after being mutual friends for more than 3 years. With their sonic escapade underway they recruited Tiinesh Nathan on the bass and Esqandar Haqeem on the drums. Heavily inspired by psych outfits from Australia and America like King Gizzard and the lizard wizard and thee oh sees, In March 2020, Sonic Maha released their first full length album ‘Pterodactyl City’. The album itself contains loud imaginative sounds and chaotic screeching melodies which reflects their eccentric energy on stage. With the ongoing pandemic, it is unfortunate that the band is not able to record their second album. Their next album will be expected to be release around early next year.

The Fatalis

The Fatalis was officially formed in the middle of December 2016. They are a band that carries the flag of garage rock revival, with hints of fuzzy hard rock sounds. They’ve churned out their first self-titled ep, consist of 6 tracks filled with swift, aggressive riffs and bass lines packed with grooves. Drum beats and fills that will keep your pulse and heartbeat intact, complimented with high-energy, high-intensity vocals and lyrics with socio political leanings. In 2019, they are back with their latest work, more catchy pumping riffs, sing a long lyrics, high octane energy and soul and will have the crowd chant for more! The album is called “Ledakan Paradigma” which contain 8 tracks groovy hard rocking sound.
